Margaret Agnes (Pavalock) Vickery

Little Falls, NY/Wilmington, NC-Mrs. Margaret Agnes (Pavalock) Vickery, age 70, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, January 15, 2018, in the comfort of her home in Wilmington, NC.  Her untimely passing was the result of asthma complications.  She was born to Donald and Edna Pavalock on August 2, 1947 in Little Falls, NY.  Margaret was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy, "Class of 1965," now known as Holy Family Parish in Little Falls. On Jan 4, 1969, she was united in Holy Matrimony with John D. Vickery, Sr. at St. Mary's Church, Little Falls, recently celebrating 49 blessed years of marriage this year.  Many will remember Margaret as the city clerk of Little Falls, NY where she gained the respect of many, retiring in 2009 and moving to North Carolina with her husband to focus on their happiness and the success of their loved ones.  She was at one time employed with Salada Tea and Remington Arms, Ilion.  Margaret currently was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church of Wilmington NC.  Margaret was an “Elk Lady” of the Elk’s Lodge of Wilmington NC.   Margaret was dedicated as the matriarch of her family. She was the go-to person and the voice of reason. When she spoke, her words of wisdom were respected and everyone followed her lead. Her inspirational thoughts and talks encouraged her loved ones and raised their self-esteem. She expected the best from them. She was also nurturing, loving, and generous with her time. As a grandmother, she learned how to love even more, and had a chance to know each of her grandchildren individually. To this day, they speak of her unconditional love and unwavering support. When her grandchildren arrived, she became a part of their lives and encouraged harmony among all of them.  She was a very social person and enjoyed conversation with friends and strangers alike.  Margaret will be forever remembered by all those lives she touched in Little Falls and North Carolina.   Surviving are her loving husband of 49 years, John Dennis Vickery Sr of NC; her loving children: Dawn Vickery (Keith Loesch), John Jr. and wife Kimberlee and Beth Vickery (Henry Daughtry) all of North Carolina; a close sister, Ann Carlisto and husband Tony of Little Falls, NY; two very special and close to her heart grandchildren: Steven Barhydt (Nicole Yerina) and Makenna Grace Vickery; cherished nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and her beloved dog “Charlie"  Margaret was predeceased by a son, Dennis John Vickery, a brother, Thomas Pavalock, and two sisters, Mary Murphy (James) and Ellen Pavalock. A funeral service will commence on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at 11:00 AM at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel, 1535 S. 41st St., Wilmington, NC 28403.  There are no calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate your donation in her name to Alzheimer’s Association Eastern, North Carolina Chapter at www.tmcfunding.com.  Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations (Daniel J.
