Michael J. Kaminski

December 9, 1934 — June 19, 2017

Little Falls, NY-Mr. Michael J. “Ki” Kaminski, age 82, of State Route 169, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 19, 2017.  At the time of his passing he was in the presence of his loving family. He was born in Little Falls on Dec. 9, 1934, son of the late Kazmierz and Mary (Donovan) Kaminski.  He received his education in Little Falls schools.  He then went on to serve his country with the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War.  He was honorably discharged in 1954.  On Nov. 12, 1966, Ki was married to Dawn A. Konik at St. Mary’s Church, Little Falls with Father Thomas Connery, officiating.  The couple shared in a blessed union of over 50 years.  Mr. Kaminski before working for the US Post Office for over 30 years was employed as a house painter and worked for Gorge View Lanes in Little Falls.  He retired from the Little Falls Post Office as a rural carrier, a job he truly loved. In his earlier years, Ki was active in sports including bowling, golfing and baseball.  He also loved to fish with his daughter Jennifer.  The family enjoyed many years of camping at Piseco Lake.  Michael offered his family and friends unconditional love with a beautiful heart.  He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his beloved family; his wife, Dawn at home; his children, Julie Lawless and Jay Terry of Madrid, NY, Jennifer Slabe and Brad of Little Falls and Jessica Bucenec and husband Steven of Little Falls;  grandchildren, Anthony and Alexis Barretta, Miranda Salamone, Abby, Morgan and Jacob Slabe, Molly, Michael and Max Bucenec; nieces, nephews, cousins; half sister, Marsha Kaminski and her son Noel and in laws, Robert and Joanne Higgins, Charles Schwasnick and the late Lorraine, Joe and Tammy Konik, Annie and Don Null and John and Karen Konik.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Laurelynn and by a granddaughter, Stevie Dawn Bucenec.  He was also predeceased by his in laws, Joe and Betty Konik. Enea Funeral and Cremation Care, 5860 State Route 5 (near St. Mary’s Cemetery), between Little Falls and Herkimer, 315-508-5250 on Wednesday (today), June 21, 2017 from 5-7 pm.  The funeral will commence at 8:15 am on Thursday, June 22nd from Dan Enea’s funeral home location and 9 am from Holy Family Parish, corner of E. Main and John Sts., Little Falls with the Rev. Terence Healy, pastor officiating a Mass of Christian Burial.  Procession will follow to St. Mary’s Cemetery, town of Herkimer where he will be laid to rest.
