Michelle J. Machnica

December 26, 1989 — January 28, 2024

Dolgeville, New York

Michelle J. Machnica, age 34, of Dolgeville, NY, departed this life on January 28th, 2024, due to a tragic car accident. Born on a crisp winter day, December 26th, 1989, in the serene town of Gloversville, NY, Michelle's journey was one woven with the threads of kindness, devotion, and an unyielding spirit of compassion.

Michelle was a beacon of light in the lives of many. In the fabric of her life Michelle was tenderly stitched as a beloved daughter to her father, Michael J. Machnica, and her late mother Debra L. Machnica (Koerber). She was devoted girlfriend to James J. Cole, a cherished sister, an adoring aunt, a beloved daughter, niece, cousin, and a friend whose memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those she touched. Her life was a testament to love, leaving an indelible mark on her brother Paul, his children Josiah and Noah and their mother Deborah. Her sister Candace will always cherish the memories they made together.  As will her beloved protective big brother Philip along with his wife Amber and their daughters Adalyn and Arielle.

An ardent lover of all creatures great and small, Michelle's heart was a sanctuary for many rescued animals, each one a silent witness to her boundless empathy and care. Her dedication was not confined to her love for animals alone. As a dedicated assistant manager at Mangia Macrina’s Pizza in Little Falls and Ankers Fish House in Schenectady, Michelle's commitment, work ethic, and warm smile were the hallmarks of her professional life, earning her the respect and admiration of colleagues and customers alike.

Michelle's life was a tapestry of empowerment, woven with the threads of her kind deeds, gentle words, and the unspoken acts of love that defined her very essence. Though her departure from this world was untimely, the legacy of her spirit—a symphony of kindness, strength, and unwavering love—will continue to resonate within the lives of those fortunate enough to have known her.

As we bid farewell to Michelle, we are reminded that while life is transient, love is eternal. Her light, though no longer with us in physical form, will continue to shine brightly, guiding us through the shadows, reminding us of the beauty and fragility of life, and inspiring us to live with the same fervor and compassion that she embodied. Michelle Machnica, a soul too precious for this world, now rests in peace, leaving behind a trail of memories for us to cherish, honor, and hold close to our hearts.

Michelle's funeral arrangements are under the direction and care of the locally/family owned Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, Town of Manheim, 315-508-5131.  There will be a service at MVFC at a time to be announced.
