Mr. Charles Millard

Salisbury Center, NY-Mr. Charles Millard, age 79, of Emmonsburg Road, beloved husband of Judith (Mowers) Millard, passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, following a long, courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on Nov. 24, 1937 in Pennsylvania, son of the late Charles and Cora (Palmer) Millard and attended schools in Rhode Island and New York.  Mr. Millard served his country with the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged.  He was united in marriage with Judith Mowers on July 13, 1963 in Salisbury Center.  They were married 54 years.  He was last employed with Tumble Forms in Dolgeville where he was the wood room coordinator.   Mr. Millard enjoyed being outdoors.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.  Charles loving telling story about the many happy times he had during his lifetime.  He will be missed by his family and friends.  Many happy memories were spent with his many friends in social gatherings.  He was also a tremendous dancer. Survivors include his beloved family; his wife Judith at home; his children, Carol Kerby of Alabama, Beth Slocum and Chip Foster of Fairfield, Matt Millard and Bobbie Jo Kiefner of Pattersonville; siblings, Mary Lou Tanner of Herkimer, Judy Daley and husband Bruce of Salisbury, Frank Millard and wife Renee of Dolgeville; sister in law, Jane Grose and husband Bob of Salisbury; grandchildren, Cassandra Pointon and husband Mortie, Joshua Sherwood and Sarah Congdon, Jacob Millard and wife Emily, Katherine Millard and Charles Millard; great grandchildren, Colton Sherwood and Paisley Millard; many nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Millard and by his son, George Edward Millard.
Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of Charles' life from 2-5 pm on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Stone Jug Restaurant, 2558 State Route 29, Dolgeville, NY.  Burial will take place privately.  Memorial offerings in his name can be sent to the Kirby Free Library in Salisbury or to Salisbury Fire Department.
