Mrs. Lucille M. (Forbes) Perrone

Ilion, NY-Mrs. Lucille M. (Forbes) Perrone, age 78, a Mohawk Valley resident and also a resident of Florida, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2019, at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown, following an illness.  She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing. She was born on August 23, 1941 in Jay, New York, daughter of the late Hubert and Mary (Tero) Forbes.  She was educated in Richfield Springs schools.  She was first united in marriage with Ebert "Butch" Bowman.  On April 20, 1985 she was joined in marriage with Augustine A. "Shorty" Perrone; a loving and devoted union of 24 years until his passing on September 9, 2009.    Lucille was last employed at the Waterville Knitting Factory.  She previously worked at various local restaurants.  Lucille loved to crochet and enjoyed watching WWE and spending time with her granddaughter, Nicole Phillips.  She is survived by three sons: Gerald Forbes and wife Diane of Forestport, NY, Timothy Bowman and wife Brenda of Ilion and Keith Bowman of Ilion; a daughter in law, Tara Bowman; a sister, Roberta Forbes-Ingraham and husband Gary of Ilion; also surviving are numerous cherished grandchildren and her adored great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins, along with friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Mary; by her beloved son, Dale A. Bowman on August 23, 2015; by a sister, Joyce Forbes Lanphere and by a brother, Hubert "Babe" Forbes, Jr.. In keeping with Lucille's wishes, services will be private and at the convenience of the family at Oak Hill Cemetery, Herkimer.  Please send contributions in her memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.  Lucille and her family's care has been entrusted to Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5 (town of Manheim), Little Falls.  The family would like to offer their gratitude to the cancer center at Herkimer Bassett Healthcare, along with the staff at Bassett, Cooperstown for their kindness and compassion.  Please click above to add to Lucille's online memorial.
