Mrs. Muriel L. DeLucco, age 90, a lifelong Oppenheim/Dolgeville resident, passed away peacefully following a brief illness on Wednesday evening, June 26, 2024 at the Abraham House, Utica with the love and support of her family at her side.
She was born in Oppenheim on December 11, 1933, daughter of the late Symeon and Marguerite (Canfield) Sammons. She was united in marriage with Carmel DeLucco who preceded her in death in 1970. Muriel was the owner and operator of Amy's Fabrics with locations in both Dolgeville and Little Falls.
Survivors include her beloved daughter, Sharon Outtrim and husband Larry of York, SC; her cherished granddaughter, Nicolette Outtrim of Fort Mill, SC; her great grandpuppy, Myla; a sister, Marguerite Sammons of Herkimer; numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a sister in law, Lois Sammons. Muriel was preceded in death by her siblings, Frank (Louise) Sammons, Bill (Alice) Sammons, Dave Sammons, Ethel (Bill) Elwood, Beverly LaBorgne and infant brother, LeRoy Sammons. She was also predeceased by a nephew, Billy Elwood and a niece, Lorraine Sammons Krupa.
The DeLucco family will be present to receive relatives and friends at Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, Little Falls (Town of Manheim), 315-508-5131-Daniel J. Enea, Director, from 12-1 pm on Sunday, June 30, 2024. A funeral service will commence at 1 pm also on Sunday from MVFC where Muriel's life will be celebrated. Procession will follow to Ephratah Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. Kindly consider contributions to the Abraham House, Utica or Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., in memory of Muriel.
