Nora Cambridge

Mohawk, New York

Mrs. Nora E. Cambridge, age 96, formerly of Mohawk, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, April 17, 2023 at the Grand Nursing and Rehab Facility, Ilion.  At the time of her passing, she had the love of her family by her side.

She was born on August 5, 1926 in Ilion, one of four girls, the daughter of the late Alexander and Erna (Warmbold) Burns and graduated from Mohawk High School, “Class of 1944”.  On July 30, 1955, she was united in marriage with the love of her life Paul F. Cambridge in Annunciation Church, Ilion; a loving, blessed and devoted 68-year union filled with joy and happiness.  Paul provided for the family and Nora was the proud homemaker.  Nora was at one time employed with the Mohawk Homestead. 

Nora considered her loved ones to be the center of her life, they were always her main focus.  She put her all into making sure her family was provided for. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she understood the importance of family connections and love was always paramount.  In her spare time, she enjoyed circle word books and reading.  In her earlier years, enjoyed spending time in her garden and watching her flowers grow. 

Survivors besides her devoted husband, Paul of Frankfort, her children, Sandra Sweeney and husband Jack of Newport, Nancy Aiello and husband Thomas of Herkimer, Paul Cambridge and his companion, Sherry Young of Caroga Lake and Denise Dickson and husband Joseph of Davis, CA; her loving grandchildren, Adrienne (Kevin), Thomas (Jake), Tanya (Jordan), Megan and Jake (Banu); cherished great grandchildren, Alyvia (who provided loving care to her great grandmother until the very end), Gavin, Damion and Mason; many nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her siblings, Mildred, Eleanor and Erna.

In respecting her wishes, there are no calling hours and arrangements have been placed under the direction and care of Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, between Little Falls and St. Johnsville, 315-508-5131.  Services will be held at the convenience of her family at Mohawk Cemetery.  The family would like to offer their sincere gratitude to the caring staff on the 2nd floor at the Grand Nursing and Rehab in Ilion.
