Pamela Susan Thompson

Pamela Susan "Pam" Thompson, 71, of Rehm Road, (town of Florence), passed away on Thursday afternoon, October 29, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica after a long battle with diabetes.

Pam was born in October 1949 to Robert and Ramona Patterson of Indianapolis, IN. She loved her family and people in general. She would give her heart and soul to help anyone that needed it. Yet, she was also everyone's "rock" as she was strong willed and independent. Pam loved to sew and go horseback riding. She built and raced her own "street stock" race car and also built her own personal convenience store and deli business. She absolutely loved Halloween and enjoyed nature, her garden and waterfalls, but most of all she loved spending time with family.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry; her brothers, Mike and Glen; brother-in-law Larry; sisters in law, Debbie and Delores; two sons, L. Paul Thompson, Chris (Karen) Thompson; and one daughter LaVaun Rivers; her grandchildren, Meighgan (Karl), Furby (Jacob), Sarah, Ambur, Robert; a daughter in law, Jess Thompson, as well as several others plus great grandchildren, Draiman, Ashli and a few others all of which she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Steve.

There will be a small private family service and family members can contact LaVaun for details. Thanks to The Presbyterian and Lutheran Homes for their care prior to and also to Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations for her and our families care/services after. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association to help fight the disease that took our beloved family member. Remember her favorite quote, "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain!"

Pamela and her family's care has been placed in the trust of Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, between Little Falls and St. Johnsville, 315-508-5131. Please click above to add to her online memorial.
