Peter J. Moschetto, Jr., age 53, of Connecticut, formerly of Mohawk, passed away on Thursday evening, Nov. 30, 2023 at the home of his parents in East Herkimer.  His passing ended a long courageous battle with cancer, he had his loving family at his side.

He was born June 6, 1970 in Herkimer, son of the late Peter J. Moschetto, Sr. and Beverly Stanley and her husband Earl who reside in East Herkimer.  He graduated from Mohawk High School, "Class of 1988".  He furthered his education attending SUNY Poly Institute, Utica, where he received his Bachelors Degree.  He went on and attended the University of Connecticut where he obtained a Masters Degree in business.  Peter went to work for IBM in Connecticut and with his exceptional entrepreneurial skills opened a business named Aculer, Middletown, CT, a rent-to-own store.  He also loved to prepare taxes, working for Intuit and worked for an accounting firm in Boston.  His talent and skills with numbers was just incredible. 

Peter loved sports and he enjoyed playing golf with his cherished son, Nathan, he was his whole world and being.  His love for his family was paramount and he would do anything for them.

Survivors include his beloved family, his son, Nathan of CT, his mother, Beverly Stanley (Earl) of East Herkimer, his sister, Cindy Cirillo and husband Peter of East Herkimer, two nieces, Nicole Oyer and husband George of Frankfort and their two children, Rosalee and Killian and Brittney Hasner and husband Daniel and their son, Derick of Black River, NY.  Also surviving are his best friends, Steven Tilona and Marquis Privott.  He was preceded in death by his brother, William Moschetto in 1993, his father Peter J. Moschetto, Sr. in 2012, his paternal grandparents, William and Marguerite Moschetto, maternal grandparents, Harold and Carrie Chrisman and also by his favorite uncle, Fred Chrisman. 

Services will take place at a time to be announced at Mohawk Cemetery, in the spring of 2024.  Kindly consider memorial offerings in his name to Dana Farber Cancer Center, 450 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02215.  The family would like to offer their gratitude to Drs. Aizer and McGregor, both of Dana Farber for their kindness and compassion. His arrangements have been placed under the direction and care of the locally owned Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, between Little Falls and St. Johnsville, 315-508-5131.
