Rebecca Rose (Parisi) Gushue, age 54, of Brockett Street, went home to be with the Lord peacefully early Wednesday morning, September 20, 2023 in the comfort of her Dolgeville home, while surrounded by her loving family, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Rebecca was born on December 5, 1968 in Little Falls, daughter of Rose Marie (Antonucci) Parisi and the late Daniel Parisi of Dolgeville. A lifelong Dolgeville resident, she was educated in the Dolgeville school system and furthered her education receiving an associates degree. She was united in marriage with Christopher Gushue in 1996; a 27 year union of love, respect and dedication to one another. Rebecca and her husband own and operate Chris's Collision on Route 5S, Little Falls. She was a faithful member and served as the secretary on the Church Council of the Little Falls Assembly of God Church, Little Falls.
Rebecca's whole world revolved around her family and cats. She was a selfless woman who always cared for others, no matter who it was. She enjoyed showing off her skills in the kitchen. Carrying on the family Italian tradition, Rebecca loved passionately, many were blessed to be a part of her life and heart. If you were fortunate enough to gain her friendship, you knew of her wonders. She enjoyed spending time in her home. Her personality, and was so generous with those who she respected. She was humble, a hard worker, and engaged all of her efforts in creating a life that she was proud of always keeping her husband, children, siblings and their families close.
Survivors include her cherished family; her husband Christopher; her two adored sons, Joshua and Christopher Gushue; her loving mother, Rose Marie of Dolgeville; her devoted brothers, Daniel J. Parisi and wife Lucie of CT and Timothy Parisi and wife Heidi of Little Falls; many nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles and cousins. Survivors also include in laws, June Gushue and Chris's sister Lynn(Gushue) Young and husband Tom. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Anthony and Antonette Antonucci, and paternal grandparents: Domenic and Philomena Parisi.
The family of Rebecca would like to extend a special thank you to all the family, friends and the many others in the community who have support her and the family through her courageous fight.
Relatives and friends are invited to visitation at the locally owned and operated Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, Little Falls (Town of Manheim), 315-508-5131 on Friday, Sept. 22, 2023 from 4-7 pm. Rebecca's funeral will commence at 10 am on Saturday, Sept. 23rd from the Little Falls First Assembly of God Church, 559 E. Jefferson St., Little Falls, with her brother, the Rev. Timothy Parisi, pastor, officiating. Procession will follow to Dolgeville Cemetery, Dolgeville where she will be laid to rest. Rebecca requested no floral arrangements, instead kindly consider honoring her memory with a memorial contribution to the Little Falls First Assembly of God Church or a plant.
