Mrs. Regina M. (Battista) Leonard, 64, of North Utica, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, February 27, 2021 in the comfort of her home. At the time of her passing, she had the love and support of her husband, Francis Leonard, and her children, Jason and Nicole and family, by her side.
She was born on January 26, 1957 in Buffalo, NY daughter of the late Angelo and Loretta (Harvey) Battista and educated in Buffalo and Utica schools. She was united in marriage with Francis Leonard on Feb. 27, 1982 at St. Joseph/St. Patrick's Church, Utica; a loving and blessed union of 39-years. Regina was employed with ConMed for over 32 years of dedicated service. Regina enjoyed cooking and baking in her leisure time. She was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include her loving family; her husband Francis at home; children, Jason M. Allen-Leonard and Douglas J. of Utica, Nicole D. Leonard of Utica; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald Battista and Emilio Rosato.
The family would like to offer their gratitude to the staff of Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester for their kindness and compassion during this difficult time. Also, a heartfelt thank you is extended to the caregivers at Hospice Care, Inc for their professionalism and the staff at Slocum-Dickson, for their care.
Regina and her family's care has been entrusted to Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5 (corner of Bidelman Road), between Little Falls and St. Johnsville, 315-508-5131. A memorial service for Regina will commence at 4 pm on Saturday, March 6, 2021 from Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, Little Falls and relatives and friends may pay their respects also on Saturday from 1pm until the start of the service at 4 pm. Burial will be private.
