Richard J. "Rick" Grande

Mr. Richard J. “Rick” Grande, 55 of Glenwood Springs Colorado, a Herkimer native, passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 2nd, 2024.

Rick was born in Herkimer, New York on July 24, 1969, son of Jeanne Louise Miller. He graduated from the Greater Johnstown School District, ‘Class of 1988’. Rick spent some time exploring various career avenues before landing in Colorado where he practiced as a massage therapist for over ten years.

Rick was a lover of nature and enjoyed spending his days outside. He was an avid creator, making various massage tools, working on solar modifications for his vehicles, and building anything that he could to improve his surroundings. He showed a great deal of compassion and empathy to all animals and thought of his pets as his true family. He adored his pets throughout his lifetime, especially his dogs Teddy and Stanley; whom he traveled across the country with regularly. Rick had the capacity to be a tremendous caretaker for others in need, including his childhood friend, Todd.

Survivors include his sister, Jessica Grande of Little Falls; two nieces, Abigail and Madison Farber of Little Falls; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanne Louise Miller.

A special thank you to his many friends in the Glenwood Springs area who took special care and watched over him throughout the years.
