Rick D. Reed

Rick D. Reed, age 68, a longtime Rome resident, passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 20, 2024, in Rome, as the result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Rick was born on Nov. 10, 1955, in Little Falls, son of the late Donald A. and Marilyn Ruth (Harrod) Reed and educated in Rome schools, graduating with Rome Free Academy, Class of 1975. He was last employed with Jeff Gifford Contracting, Rome.

Rick loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding on his motorcycle.

Survivors include his sister, Sandra Holliday and husband Wayne of Little Falls, a brother, Gerry Reed of Frankfort, his girlfriend, Lynne Gillette, aunt, Margie Richards, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by his best friend, Steve Cadrette.

Services will be held at the Lee Center American Legion, 9025 Veterans Memorial Pkwy, Lee Center, NY 13363 from 3-7 pm on Friday, November 8, 2024..
