Mr. Robert G. Havranek, Jr., age 75, of Fourth Street, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 20, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica. At the time of his passing, he had the love and support of his wife, Diana and his daughter, Karista, at his bedside.
He was born in Columbus Ohio on Dec. 31, 1944, son of the late Robert G. and Mildred I. (Nance) Havranek, Sr., and educated in Whitesboro, NY schools. He furthered his education attending the Mohawk Valley School of Nursing where he obtained his Registered Nurse Certification. Mr. Havranek was a United States Veteran having served with both the US Navy and US Airforce. He spent his career as a traveling nurse, traveling all over the country to take care of others.
Survivors include his loving wife, Diana McCants of Ilion; his children, Shawn Havranek and wife Deana, Jason Havranek and companion Barbie, Ryan Havranek and wife Amy; Rose Havranek and Karista Unell and husband Ronald; three step children, Lewanna, Robert and William and wife Melody; siblings, Paul Havranek, Arlene Manning and David Havranek; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews cousins.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at St. Augustine's Episcopal Church, Ilion with the Rev. Canon John Bassett, officiating assisted by Bishop Emeritus, Daniel Herzog.
