Robert D. "Bob" Klein

Ilion, New York-Robert D. "Bob" Klein, age 61, an Ilion resident, passed away on Monday afternoon, January 9, 2022 at MVHS, New Hartford Campus, following a courageous battle with kidney disease.  He was surrounded by his family, at the time of his passing.  

Bob was born on March 5, 1961 in Utica, son of the late Robert F. Klein and Jean L. (Dawley) Ouimette.  He was educated in Herkimer schools, graduating from the Herkimer High School, Class of 1980.  He was last employed  with Rome Cable, until he retired due to ill health.  He loved music especially the tunes of the 60's and 70's.  He also enjoyed listening to podcasts.  One of his favorite things to do was to bowl and was very accomplished on the dance floor. He loved his cats, Kelly, Sunny and Shady. 

He leaves his beloved companion, Tammie Marshall of Ilion; his close siblings, Brenda Spanfelner of Herkimer, Tammy Klein and partner, Phil Whynot of Herkimer and Eric Klein of FL; cherished nieces and nephews, Heather, Doug, Anastasia, Alyssa and Richelle who was like a niece to Bob.  The family would like to thank Nick Liscio for his kindness and compassion.  Kindly consider and send memorial contributions in Robert's name to the Herkimer County Humane Society.

There are no calling hours.  Funeral service will take place at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements for cremation are under the direction and care of Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5 (corner of Bidleman Road), Little Falls, 315-508-5131.
