Ruth E. “Tuts” Humphrey, 81, of St. Johnsville, passed away, Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at her home, following a brief illness.

She was born on September 5, 1938, in the Town of German Flatts, the daughter of the late
Howard C. and Hazel E. Deuel Humphrey and was educated in St. Johnsville schools.

For many years, Ruth was employed with St. Johnsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, St.
Johnsville in housekeeping. She was an avid hunter who had an appreciation for the
outdoors. Ruth enjoyed gardening, flowers and had a love for animals.

She is survived by her sisters; Roberta Lasher of Herkimer and Shirley Petkovsek of Little Falls, her sister-in-law, Joyce Humphrey of Little Falls; her nieces and nephews, Lee Lasher of Herkimer, Cheryl Petkovsek of Oklahoma, John C. Petkovsek of North Carolina, Stephen Petkovsek of Dolgeville, Randy Petkovsek of Michigan, Christine and Mike Hefflin of North Carolina, Kevin and Bridgette Petkovsek of Little Falls, Gerald and Debbie Humphrey of Ilion and Melissa and Shawn Tyler of St. Johnsville; her companion, Frederick Wagner of St. Johnsville; her special friend, Linda Brown of St. Johnsville and her canine companion, Rex.
Ruth was predeceased by her siblings, Joseph and Donna Humphrey, Gerald Humphrey, Sr, Leland Lasher and John Petkovsek.

Ruth’s graveside service will be held 3 p.m., Saturday, August 22, 2020, in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills, where she will be laid to rest with her parents. As her wishes, there will be no visitation. All regulations pertaining to COVID will be followed.

Contributions, in Ruth’s memory, may be offered to a charity of one’s choice.
