Ruth Marie Mosher, 64, of Ilion, passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon, Feb. 25, 2022 at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown.
She was born Jan 29, 1958 in Little Falls, daughter of the late Bud and Lena (Christman) Mosher and educated in Little Falls and Dolgeville schools. Her last employment was with Foltsbrook Center for Nursing and Rehab, Herkimer, where she was employed as a CNA. She shared a loving and devoted 35-year union with Wilhelm Lutz and they currently resided in Ilion. Ruth enjoyed reading. She was happiest when spending time with her cherished family. In her leisure time, she enjoyed the show "The Walking Dead".
Ruth is survived by her companion, Wilhelm Lutz of Ilion; her daughters, Victoria Nichols and fiance Don Varin of Ilion, Ashley Easterling and husband Jeremy of Kentucky, and Josephine "Josie" Cotton and husband David of North Carolina; a sister, Debbie Mosher of Herkimer; brother, Bud Mosher of Ilion and Christopher Lizzotte of Frankfort; many cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Cindy Strickland and John Mosher. Ruth's son, Eric Nichols, preceded her in death.
The family will have a celebration of life for Ruth at a time to be announced. There are no calling hours. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, between Little Falls and St. Johnsville, 315-508-5131.
