Mrs. Ruth V. (Petrie) Wheeler, age 85, of Randazzo Road, Little Falls, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, December 19, 2021 in the comfort of her home. She was in the presence of her family, at the time of her passing.

She was born in Little Falls on May 17, 1936, daughter of the late Charles and Emma (Dupont) Petrie and she was educated in Little Falls schools. She was united in marriage with Samuel Wheeler and he preceded her in death.
Ruth enjoyed her time spent at Foltsbrook Day Care in Herkimer, with her special friend, Mary Perry. She loved card games, especially rummy and enjoyed search word and the parcheesi board game. Ruth treasured the time spent with her four grandchildren and her nine great grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Wells and husband John of Little Falls; four grandchildren, Shane, Wayne, Brandy and Shawn; nine great grandchildren, Jenna, Emily and William, Ethan, Kiley, Kaleb, Adrien, Trinity and Olivia. She was preceded in death by her son, John "Jackie" Brown, by her brother, Charles Petrie, by her sister, Nancy Petrie Deming (and husband Ronald), and by a nephew, Ron Deming. Kindly consider contributions in her memory which may be sent to Roswell Park Hospital, Buffalo in memory of her late son, Jackie Brown. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Ruth's funeral service commencing at 11 am on Christmas Eve Day, Friday, Dec. 24, 2021 with Deacon James Bower, officiating from the chapel of Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5 (corner of Bidleman Road), Little Falls. Visitation will be held also on Friday, Dec. 24th from 10-11 am, prior to the service at MVFC. In the spring of 2022, a burial service will take place at Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills.
