Fort Plain, New York-Saghera Djae Shirley, age 24, of Kellogg Street, the beloved daughter of Denise Empie and Stanford Shirley, passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 7, 2019, in Pattonsburg, MO. She was a loving mother to her two beautiful children, age 8 and 1. A talented artist Saghera loved to write and draw and she had a beautiful singing voice and enjoyed going to concerts. She enjoyed jamming with musician friends and introducing people to different music. She loved the ocean and sailing, especially on Block Island (RI) where she enjoyed exploring the different coves and surfs. She is survived by her sister, Soren of Ft.Plain, who was her close confidant, as well as sisters, Shere-Ann, Sacia, Zoe, Serenity; brothers, Marlando and Stanford Jr; God-siblings, Gregory and Clora Gary and cousin, Michael Lewis, all of whom she was very close to. She also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Saghera was predeceased by her grandfather, Jack Empie (from whom she inherited her love of the sea) and by her grandmother, Pauline Swartz, also by Godmother, Evelyn Gary and aunt, Debra Johnson. Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5 (town of Manheim), between Little Falls and St. Johnsville, 315-508-5131, has been entrusted with funeral arrangements. A funeral service will commence at 1 pm on Saturday, July 27th, 2019 from the chapel of MVFC. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Saturday from 11am until 1pm, prior to the service. Burial will be private.
