Shawn Michael Patterson was called by his Lord on March 5th after a very brief illness. He was born September 21st, 1969 in Fort Worth, TX to Charlotte Ann (Platts) Patterson and Donald H. Patterson Sr.

Shawn was a graduate of Ilion High School, class of 1988. Upon his graduation, he became a United States Marine at Parris Island, SC. Upon his completion of his Marine Corps service, Shawn traveled the country, settling in SC, WA state and VA for a time, working his way up to Foreman in construction and as a truck driver before eventually relocating back to New York. He was employed by JC Rendering at the time of his passing. Driving was his passion and he covered the 48 states many times. Shawn loved to tinker, especially with vehicles. There wasn't much he couldn't fix. His most favored and precious time was spent with his grandbabbies for game and movie nights.

Shawn was a family man who loved to be by himself. He was preceeded in death by his parents, his beloved Uncle Chick & Aunt Janet (Patterson) and Uncle John (Platts). He is survived by his son, Patrick Allen and his wife, Jasmine of Clayville. His five grandbabbies who he loved spending time with; Kyla, Logan, Austin, Hunter and Judith. Per Shawn's request, he will be cremated and there will be a gathering of family and friends 'to drink a beer for me' at a later date.  Arrangements for Shawn are under the direction and care of the locally/family owned and operated Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, between Little Falls and St. Johnsville, 315-508-5131.
