Frankfort-Mr. Lewis Danforth Hoage, Sr., age 89, of Berberick Road, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, March 6, 2017. His passing occurred in the comfort of his home, in the presence of his loved ones. He was born on July 2, 1927, in Frankfort son of the late Richard and Mary (Danforth) Hoage and educated in Frankfort schools. Lewis was united in marriage with Virginia Nelson in Mohawk on January 17, 1949; a loving and devoted union of 68 years. He went on to join the United States Army and then the United States Marine Corps. He received an honorable discharge on September 9, 1948, holding the rank of Corporal and was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Hoage was a self employed carpenter for many years. Survivors include his devoted family; his wife, Virginia of Frankfort; daughter, Roberta Stockigt and husband Pete, daughter, Louise Stockigt and husband Butch; son, Lewis Hoage, Jr. and wife Sherry; daughter, Lori Robertson and husband Rock; son, Scott Hoage and wife Jennifer; eighteen grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. In respecting his wishes, there are no calling hours. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a memorial celebration of his life from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at the Litchfield, NY Town Hall.
