Teressa N. Latona

November 5, 1958 — May 16, 2024

Little Falls, New York

Teressa N. Latona, age 65, of Summit Ave., passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, May 16, 2024 in her home.  She had the love and support of her family at her side, when her passing occurred.

Teressa was born in Talcotville, NY to Ann (nee Ackerman) and Francis Brown. She was the youngest of their ten children.  She attended Mohawk Valley Community College and Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute to pursue her love of art. There she met Lew Latona and started a family in Boonville, NY. They bought their first home in Collinsville, NY.

Her days were filled with caring for her five children (she was a pioneer in homeschooling) and visits with her mom, many siblings, and nieces and nephews.  Art was always central to her life. She did beautiful pencil renditions of family members and pets as well as pastel on the spot portraits. She painted nursery wall murals and sets for church plays, sewed clothes for her family and made costumes for vacation Bible school. In 1999 she returned to college at Oswego SUNY to complete her education. This allowed her to begin teaching grade 7 and 8 art at Dolgeville Central School. In 2015, she married David Strube and they lived together in Little Falls.

Teressa was very loved and will be greatly missed by her husband, five children, two step children and fourteen grandchildren: David Strube and his sons Adam Strube (Vivienne Strube) and son Erik of Alexandria, VA; Brian Strube and children Hunter and Scarlett of Fraser, CO; Sarina Ehalt (Ryan Ehalt) and children Pearl, Sky and Glory Ann of Saskatoon, SK; Sarah  Liddle (Lex Seneff) and children Malachi, Anna, Emma, Amarah, Dominic, Adia, Andrew, and Claire of East Aurora, NY; Peter Latona of Buffalo, NY; Lewis Latona of Webster, NY; and Caleb Latona of Little Falls, NY.  Teressa is also survived by her siblings, Wayne (Melanie) Brown, Judy (Bob) Kohler, Carolyn (Ron) Willson, Bill (Cindy) Brown, Sue Rocker, Sally (Bob) Bubel, and Betty (David) Poore. She is predeceased by her father and mother, Francis and Ann Brown, her brothers, Randy and Allen Brown and her brother-in-law, Fred Rocker.

Arrangements for cremation are under the direction and care of Daniel J. Enea-Director of Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, between Little Falls and St. Johnsville, 315-508-5131.  A celebration of life service will take place on Sat., May 25th at 3 pm from Oak Ridge Free Methodist Church, 838 W. German St., Herkimer.  From 2-3 pm there will be visitation at the church, prior to the service.  Burial is private.
