Terri Christman (Szala), 66, passed away on September 24, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on January 17, 1959, the daughter of the late Charles and Danine Christman (Hojohn).
On August 2, 1986, Terri married James Szala. Together they built a blended family of seven with Terri’s two daughters, Sheanna Christman (Ramsey) and Jacqueline Christman (Smith), and James’ three sons, Allan Szala, Michael Szala, and Andrew Szala.
A graduate of Amsterdam High School, Terri worked at various jobs throughout her life. Known for her incredible work ethic, she was also a loving mother, partner, and friend who will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband, James Szala; her children Sheanna Christman (Ramsey), Jacqueline Christman (Smith), Allan Szala, and Andrew Szala; her siblings Michael Christman, Susan Christman, and Chuck Christman; and her beloved nieces and nephews Samantha Christman, Katie Christman, Nicole Szala, Jessica Smith, Daniel Christman, Kimberly, McCarthy, and Nichole Christman.
Terri was also blessed with grandchildren Chelsea Christman, Daron Reynolds, Jewel Reynolds, Jemma Giudilli, and Ethen Ramsey, and a great-grandson, Micah Flores. She also leaves behind her dear brother-in-law Michael Szala, sisters-in-law Kathy Szala, Tammy Christman, and Debbie Christman, Dave Surovy
Son-in-laws Scott Eiser and Ian Giudilli and many treasured friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Danine Christman; her mother- and father-in-law, Cecilia and Chester Szala; her son, Michael Szala; her nephews, Daniel Szala and Chad Christman; and her sister-in-law, Barbara Hassfurter.
Terri will be remembered for her fun and outgoing spirit. She took time to be there for others whenever she could. One of her favorite places to visit was Tunica, Mississippi, which she enjoyed traveling to with her husband.
A true warrior, Terri battled illness for many years with strength and courage. She is now reunited in heaven with her loved ones.

We would also like to thank MVHS Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, for all of their care that they have given to the one and only truly amazing woman Terri Szala. Terri had met so many people there and became friends with so many. She will be deeply missed.
