Theresa M. (Papa) Dolan

Mrs. Theresa M. (Papa) Dolan, age 102, a lifelong resident of the Village of St. Johnsville, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, Nov. 16, 2024, at St. Johnsville Nursing and Rehab Center.

Theresa M. Papa was born the daughter to the late Samuel and late Madeline Papa on March 29, 1922, in Fonda, NY. She was raised and educated in the St. Johnsville schools. Theresa became a spinner at Helmont Mills, Inc., a knitting Mill, in St. Johnsville, for over 30 years. She married the love of her life Anthony C. Dolan, on May 15, 1949, in St. Patrick’s Church, St. Johnsville, who passed away in 1994. They shared the joy of raising two boys together, David and Anthony Dolan. Theresa thoroughly enjoyed reading, cooking, crocheting, and spending time with family especially vacationing every year in Old Orchard Beach, Maine.

Theresa is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-laws, Anthony and Melissa Dolan of St. Johnsville and David and Lesha Dolan of Little Falls; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Angelina (Chris) Blakeslee of St. Johnsville, Samuel (Laura) Dolan of Savannah, GA, Ashley (Steve) Skivington of Scottsville, NY, Anthony Dolan of Gloversville, NY, Angelia Salek of Little Falls, Kira Miller ( fiance Matt Lawrence) of Little Falls, and Shayne Jasewicz of Little Falls; twelve great grandchildren, Jacky, Abbi, Celine, and Jase Blakeslee, Liam and Cash Dolan, Annalyse Chromczak, Lacey Salek, Arik, Annabelle, and Adelyne Lawrence, and Easton Skivington, many nieces & nephews, Annie (Byron) Walrath, Joel (Penny Sue) Walrath, Josh (Jacky) Walrath, Jared (Shelley) Walrath, Sam (Mary) Papa, Joseph Papa, Kathy Papa, Maria (Mike) Saunders, Jeannie (Wayne) Dietrich, Kathy Hughes, and Larry Vincent; and a special friend, Diane. She was predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Madeline Papa; spouse, Anthony Dolan; seven brothers and sisters and their spouses, Chris (Stin) Denorfio, Mary (Ziggy) Stankowich, Rose (Bert) Dolan, Dominick (Mary) Papa, Rita (Walt) Vincent, Johnny (Paris) Papa, and Anne Pioggio, and a nephew, Jimmy Papa.

There will be no calling hours or services. Interment will be held sometime in the spring at the convenience of the family. The family would like to thank Dr. Ryan White and all the staff at St. Johnsville Rehabilitation & Nursing Center that extended care to Theresa while residing here for the past year.
