Thomas G. Tom Slover

Utica, NY-Thomas G. “Tom” Slover, age 64, of Sunnyside Drive, passed away on Thursday morning, May 25, 2017 after a brief illness, in his home, with family members by his side. He was born September 21, 1952 in Utica, NY, the son of the late Govoneur and Maryrose (Benzo) Slover. He was educated in Utica schools.  Mr. Slover was a former US Marine Corps. At one time, he worked as a machinist for the Remington Arms company in Ilion, NY. Prior to that he was employed locally as a Dental Lab Technician. Mr. Slover was a parishioner of the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes in Utica, NY.  In Tom’s spare time, he enjoyed wood working, sawing, nailing and cutting.  Thomas is survived by two brothers, Ronald D. Slover and Gerard J. Slover, both of Utica and one sister, Luciemarie Sturtevant and her husband Christopher Sturtevant and family of Liberty, SC. He is also survived by two nephews and two nieces, as well as many great nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral mass will commence at 11 am at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, 2 Barton Ave., Utica on Saturday, May, 27, 2017 at 11 am with the Rev. Joseph Salerno, Pastor officiating.  Procession will follow to Calvary Cemetery, Utica where he will be laid to rest. The Slover family will be receiving relatives and friends at Daniel J. Enea Funeral and Cremation Care, 5860 State Route 5 (near St. Mary’s Cemetery), between Herkimer and Little Falls, 315-508-5250, prior to the mass from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM on Saturday.  Kindly consider sending memorial contributions to Hospice Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Rd.
