Mr. Vincent James “Chancy” Tancredi, age 79, formerly of Little Falls and a current resident of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon September 13, 2024, at Albany Medical Center, following a brief illness.
He was born on March 6,1945 in Patterson, NJ son of Vincent Tancredi and Rose (Belmont) Tancredi. On Nov. 25, 1980, he was united in marriage to his beloved wife Carol S. (Bramer) Tancredi, who passed away on June 7th 2024, following a blessed union of 43 years.
Chancy was a loving father to three sons, Joe Tancredi and wife Liz, Chuck Tancredi and wife Christina, and Mike Tancredi. Chancy was also an amazing grandfather to Abigail, Lily, and Joey, with another one due in December. He is also survived by a sister, Rosslyn Kessler. Chancy was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Tancredi.
He was formerly in sales and a local business owner (most recently the owner of All Events Engraving in Little Falls), a dedicated Yankees fan and avid horse racing enthusiast. His charismatic personality lit up any room he entered and could easily make anyone laugh. He will truly be missed by all that had the opportunity of knowing him. He was extremely active in civic activities and held membership with the Little Falls Rotary Club. He always held a great concern for the betterment of Little Falls and the community. Chancy was a proud 38-year member of the Little Falls Elks Lodge #42, where he spent many great times amongst friends.
A true gentleman with great strength of character, Chancy was an admirable and trusted man who lived by his words and actions. He was above all a loving and supportive husband, father and grandfather. He and his wife were amazing parents, serving as a united front supporting their children. When grandchildren came along, he happily accepted the title of grandpa and was instrumental in nurturing their grandchildren in their formative years. His heart truly belonged to his wife (which is why we believe he left us shortly after his wife passed away), children, and grandchildren.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, September 20, 2024, at owner operated Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, between Little Falls and St. Johnsville, 315-508-5131 from 5-7 pm. Chancy’s funeral will commence at 11 am on Saturday, Sept. 21st from the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Steven A. Scarcia, officiating. Procession will follow to Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills where he will be laid to rest with his wife. Kindly consider memorial offerings in his name to a charity of your choice. Members of the Little Falls Elks Lodge #42 will conduct ritualistic services at Dan Enea's funeral home location on Friday evening at 6 pm.
