Walter Stanley Wastowicz

Mr. Walter Stanley Wastowicz, age 79, of Griffin Road, Mohawk, passed away suddenly on Sunday evening, December 19, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, from heart complications.
He was born in Herkimer on March 21, 1942, son of the late John and Stella (Ciolek) Wastowicz and graduated with the Herkimer High School, “Class of 1960”. He was united in marriage with Edith “Tek” Chuck on October 7, 1989, in Little Falls.
Walter was a true renaissance man. He did beautiful oil and water paintings, carved many animals, made furniture for his home including etching the glass on the China cabinet doors. He loved hunting, fishing, trapping, boating and as a young man, he and his friends restored hot rods.
Survivors include the love of his life, Edith “Tek” Wastowicz at home; his daughter, Stephanie Wastowicz; sons, Gordie MacCammon (Jackie) of Clifton Springs, Marty of Little Falls and David McCammon (Dina) of Liverpool; a brother, Thomas Wastowicz and wife Mary of Herkimer; in laws, Barbara Klock and husband Paul of Little Falls and Mary Ann VanGorder and husband Luke of Little Falls; grandchildren, Amanda, Chelsea, Lance, Gordon Paul, Hunter, Jordan, Alexis and Clara; many nieces and nephews.
Walter's funeral will commence at 6 pm on Thursday evening, December 23, 2021 from Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5 (corner of Bidleman Road), Little Falls, 315-508-5131. Calling hours will take place also on Thursday, from 4-6 pm, prior to the funeral service at MVFC. A graveside burial service will take place at Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills, in the spring of 2022.
