William R. Bill Carman

Herkimer, NY-Mr. William R. “Bill” Carman, age 83, formerly of Mohawk, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, October 20, 2016 in HomeLife at Folts, Herkimer.   At the time of his passing he was in the presence of his family. He was born on November 9, 1932 in Newburgh, NY son of the late William A. and Eleanor (Earle) Carman.  Mr. Carman was a US Army Veteran having served during the Korean War.  He was united in marriage to Joan Mason on Nov. 27, 1957, in Rockland County; a blessed and devoted union of nearly 60 years.  His last professional employment was with Lederle Labs, Pearl River, NY.  In his leisure time, he enjoyed bowling and NASCAR. Survivors include his beloved family; his wife Joan of Herkimer, his children, Kenneth Carman and wife Barbara of Garnerville, NY and Keith Carman and wife Maureen of Pearl River, NY; two cherished grandchildren, Bridget and Sarah; a brother, Robert Carman of Florida; a sister, Eleanor Hewitt of Catskill, NY; in laws, Jean Colonna of Herkimer, Carmeta Mueller of Herkimer, Roger Mason and wife Mary of Stony Point, NY; many nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his brothers Earl and Harry Carman. The family will receive relatives and friends at calling hours to be held at Daniel J. Enea Funeral and Cremation Care, 5860 State Route 5, between Herkimer and Little Falls (508-5250) on Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 11 AM until 1 PM.  Mr. Carman’s funeral will commence at 1 PM on Saturday, Oct. 22nd from the chapel at Dan Enea’s funeral home location with Deacon Joe DeLorenzo, officiating.  Procession will follow to Oak Hill Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest.  Kindly consider memorial offerings in his name to the American Cancer Society.   A heartfelt appreciation is extended to the entire staff of HomeLife at Folts for their kindness and compassion shown to Bill and his family.  To offer online condolences to the Carman family, click to the left.
